Following the incredibly successful launch of our new 2011 gown Collection to the trade at the British Bridal Exhibition last week, we have one more big exhibition in our diary this year, namely the new and innovative Modern Bride Show.  You may have seen this advertised in various bridal magazines and websites over the last few months, and just from the look and feel of those, you’ll note that the Modern Bride Show really is something a little different.  Aptly the tagline for the Modern Bride Show is ‘the contemporary wedding show’.  This really is the place to go for all brides that are looking for something that little bit different and a little bit special…(well, a LOT special!)…

This event is an inspiring showcase environment where you can spend a single day short-listing everything you need from around 150 great companies. The Modern Bride show is a genuinely 2010 destination which, unlike most current wedding shows, truly reflects the modern bride’s sense of style and her aspirations. You could choose to start your exhilarating adventure with a special river taxi; and will arrive at a very special place where every detail echoes the quality of the experience you’re looking to create on your wedding day. The centre piece of the event is the gorgeous catwalk show and Madeline Isaac-James gowns will of course be a part of this tremendous catwalk show! Beautiful, chic, professional, it’s like a press show – intimate, and designed to leave a lasting impression. With an incomparable selection of designs and styles from fashion forward to traditional, it is the modern bride’s “most inspiring fashion event of the year”.

We will of course be showing our new collections at the Modern Bride Show, not only my latest gowns but also our new ‘Charleston Collection’ – a beautiful vintage inspired hair accessory collection designed and hand-made in England exclusively for Madeline Isaac-James by the talented Paula Marsh of the Vintage Sparkle Company.  All pieces from the Charleston Collection will be available to order at the show (and there will be some limited stock available to purchase immediately), so don’t miss out on both our gowns AND our hair accessory collection.

In addition to meeting both me and my team, check out a selection of our gowns in the amazing catwalk show.  Beautifully presented and professionally produced, the catwalk shows will highlight the very latest trends in bridal design from the top designers at the Modern Bride Show.  Our stand is right next to the catwalk, so make sure you either visit us before or right after the show – you can’t miss us!   The Modern Bride show will be held at ExCel in London from 5th-7th November, and tickets are now available. See www.modernbrideshow.co.uk for more details.

Whilst totally gorgeous bridal fashion is, of course, at the core of Modern Bride’s fashion offering, there is also something very special lined up for the all-important supporting cast. Brides magazine will be hosting a boutique style show, with expert commentary and insight direct from the style show sofa, featuring fashion and styling for the groom, mother of the bride and bridesmaids.

We’re really looking forward to this show and to meeting lots and lots of bride-to-be – it’s a must to visit this beautiful show if you’re getting married in the next 12-24 months – not only for my amazing collections (she says modestly!) but also to get inspiration and ideas from many fabulous, high quality, wedding suppliers. We look forward to seeing you there! xx

Hi everyone! Well, we’re back in sunny Hampshire now after a TREMENDOUS  show at the British Bridal Exhibition last weekend.  I’d like to thank everyone involved, including the GREAT MIJ team – Clive, Paula, Rebecca, and Seon- who helped make the show such an amazing success!  The image to the right is of the MIJ team having some celebratory bubbly at the Designer catwalk show!  (from left to right); Seon, Rebecca, Natalie, Paula, and Clive (standing).  Image courtesy of Jonathan Ryan from www.peoplebyryan.com (whose images of the MIJ dresses at the catwalk show will be published in a later blog post).  We launched three new collections at the show:  The Starlet Collection, The Candlelit Collection (both gown collections) and the Charleston Collection (a collection of fabulous head pieces created by Paula Marsh for MIJ).  The feedback from both press and visitors at the show was simply overwhelming – the collections have been extremely well received and are genuinely loved!

We’re also extremely pleased to announce that we have more wonderful stockists of the Madeline Isaac-James collections (and we were in fact having to turn away would-be stockists for certain regions that had already been snapped up!)  We’ll be announcing more details in due course, making it even easier for brides-to-be to find a bridal shop that stocks Madeline Isaac-James close to them.  I have to say, we are going to be working with THE most amazing bridal boutiques – run by people that genuinely care about making the bride’s dress shopping experience second to none!  Watch this space for more details.

There’s so much to say about the British Bridal Exhibition that I’ll need to share different subjects with you over different blog post (including the fabulous Designer catwalk show!), so keep watching this space.  In the meantime, big hugs to my fab team, to everyone that visited us in the ever-stunning Designer Room, and of course, to all of our lovely, wonderful new stockists. xx

Following the news of the forthcoming launch of our fabulous new hair accessory collection, the Charleston Collection, we’ve been inundated with requests for more images!  We can’t share ALL of the images with you at once  (we need to leave SOME mystery for the official launch at the British Bridal Exhibition next week!), but we’re going to give you another little peek at this fabulous new collection.

Introducing the ‘Chicago’ hair comb:

This fabulous hair comb is inspired by the exciting and glamorous flappers of the Roaring Twenties and is perfect for brides looking for a statement piece which oozes glamour and style!

The Chicago hair comb works perfectly with gowns in our Starlet Collection.  Worn with Theda or Charlize, this hair comb will help complete the look with more than a dash of delectable 1920′s styling.

If a 1920′s look isn’t what you’re after, we have more gorgeous pieces that work equally well with both our Starlet and Candlelit gown Collections….

 Introducing the ‘Manhattan’ hairband (right):

ManhattanThe Manhattan hairband is a vision of elegance, successfully combining sparkling crystal elements with creamy pearls.  A simply stunning piece that works well with most gown styles and which can be worn in a variety of ways.  We’ve teamed this gorgeous hairband with our ’Tuesday’ gown, and it really did take our breath away!

Remember that every single one of the pieces in our Charleston Collection includes a tiny blue crystal and either a genuine vintage pearl or a genuine vintage crystal, taking care of the three out of four of the ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’ tradition!  We hope you love these pieces as much as we do – we’ll be releasing more images as we launch the collection! xx

We are very pleased to confirm that we will be unveiling an exclusive vintage inspired hair accessory collection called the ‘Charleston Collection’ at the British Bridal Exhibition (BBEH) in September.  Designed to co-ordinate effortlessly with our Starlet and Candlelit Collections (also being unveiled in their entirety at the BBEH), the Charleston Collection promises brides and retailers beautiful vintage inspired hair accessories designed and hand-made in England

The collection is named after the Charleston dance – a dance which gained popularity in the 1920’s and was considered exciting and innovative - we think this is the most apt name for the collection as this collection brings a new, even more exciting element to our brand and works beautifully with the gowns in our collections.  We’re delighted to have joined forces with Paula Marsh from The Vintage Sparkle Company who has created this superb vintage inspired collection exclusively for Madeline Isaac-James.  Each unique piece is named after a song, dance or star from the Roaring Twenties, reflecting the excitement, freedom and ‘all that jazz’ reminiscent of that era.  The collection includes gorgeous combs, tiaras and headbands – all of which are hand-made in Paula’s studio in Hampshire.  Individually made to order including Swarovski components in the design, every single piece includes a tiny blue crystal and a genuine vintage pearl or crystal (taking care of three of the ‘something old, something new…’ tradition).  In addition, understanding that many brides wish to incorporate mementoes of their special day in their daily lives, the collection cleverly uses working crystal brooches in certain designs which after the wedding can be carefully removed from the piece and used by the bride as a constant reminder of her wedding.  Each piece is beautifully presented in a keepsake box with lashings of tissue and ribbon.

We really love the Charleston Collection and believe that this beautiful collection is perfect for brides and retailers looking for a vintage inspired hair accessory collection that encapsulates style, glamour and glitz!  To see the new collection in its entirety, visit us in the Designer Room (stand D8) at the British Bridal Exhibition, 12-14 Sep 2010.
