As promised, here are just a few images from the Designer catwalk show at the recent British Bridal Exhibition. Images courtesy of Jonathan Ryan (www.peoplebyryan.com).

Following the news of the forthcoming launch of our fabulous new hair accessory collection, the Charleston Collection, we’ve been inundated with requests for more images! We can’t share ALL of the images with you at once (we need to leave SOME mystery for the official launch at the British Bridal Exhibition next week!), but we’re going to give you another little peek at this fabulous new collection.
Introducing the ‘Chicago’ hair comb:
This fabulous hair comb is inspired by the exciting and glamorous flappers of the Roaring Twenties and is perfect for brides looking for a statement piece which oozes glamour and style!
The Chicago hair comb works perfectly with gowns in our Starlet Collection. Worn with Theda or Charlize, this hair comb will help complete the look with more than a dash of delectable 1920′s styling.
If a 1920′s look isn’t what you’re after, we have more gorgeous pieces that work equally well with both our Starlet and Candlelit gown Collections….
Introducing the ‘Manhattan’ hairband (right):
The Manhattan hairband is a vision of elegance, successfully combining sparkling crystal elements with creamy pearls. A simply stunning piece that works well with most gown styles and which can be worn in a variety of ways. We’ve teamed this gorgeous hairband with our ’Tuesday’ gown, and it really did take our breath away!
Remember that every single one of the pieces in our Charleston Collection includes a tiny blue crystal and either a genuine vintage pearl or a genuine vintage crystal, taking care of the three out of four of the ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’ tradition! We hope you love these pieces as much as we do – we’ll be releasing more images as we launch the collection! xx
We were delighted to see that Perfect Wedding magazine has featured selected dresses from our 2011 Starlet Collection in this month’s wonderful magazine – check out pages 126 to 131 of the current issue. The article called ‘Art Deco Darling – make like a glamorous vintage movie star in the latest Madeline Isaac-James collection’ features seven gowns from the Starlet Collection – Demi, Marilyn, Theda, Isabella, Clara, Marina and Charlize. We love the way that Perfect Wedding have also suggested fabulous accessories from Jane Taylor Millinery and Aruna Seth that would work perfectly with the gowns. This collection will be launched to the trade at the British Bridal Exhibition in September, so should be available from selected stockists towards the end of this year. If you can’t wait that long, visit the Madeline Isaac-James boutique in Farnborough, Hampshire (close to M3, M4, M25 links) to see this very special and innovative new collection for yourself! x
Hasn’t time flown – I can’t believe we’re in March already! So much has happened over the past month it’s hard to know where to start with a catch up!
The boutique has been very busy – pretty much every Saturday since the snow stopped falling has been fully booked – and tomorrow’s no exception. We’ve loved meeting new brides and helping them find their perfect gown. In fact, during the month of February we saw a record number of brides and the REALLY great thing is that the majority of brides that visited us did so based on recommendations of our previous brides. We really can’t ask for more than that – recommendation really is the best form of advertising for our lovely dresses and service!
Next weekend is all go as we’ll be en-route to Harrogate on Saturday to show our collections at Europe’s largest trade bridal show – the British Bridal Exhibition. We have a massive stand at the exhibition which we’ll be filling with lots of gorgeous gowns including previews of selected gowns from my new Starlet and Candlelit Collections. I can’t wait to formally launch these collections as (even if I do say so myself!) the dresses are AMAZING! In addition to exhibiting, we’ll also be showing some of our gowns on the catwalk – and my daughter Maddy will be attending her first ever ‘real’ catwalk show to see the collection on the runway, so she’s very excited!
Preparations are well underway for our incredible photoshoot for the 2011 Collection! We have an amazing team onboard and I’m looking forward to working with one of the best, if not THE best, bridal stylists in the industry. The 2011 Collections have two very distinctive styles – one is very vintage, glamorous and 1930′s/1940′s inspired, whereas the other features lots of full romantic skirts – so the shoot needs to reflect this. I’m really looking forward to sharing the images (and of course the dresses!) with you once we’ve officially launched the collections!
Right, just a quick catch up as I have got LOTS to do in preparation for next week, and I’ll be in the boutique all day tomorrow to meet more brides, so better get on! Hugs to all!
Well, we’re heading into the final week of preparations before we exhibit at our third annual British Bridal Exhibition in Harrogate – Europe’s largest trade exhibition. All of our beautiful collections will be shown at our stand in the exclusive and relaxed ambience of the Designer Hall – and we’re in great company with some the UK’s most renowned and exciting bridal designers also exhibiting in the invitation only exclusive Designer Hall. (The ‘Designer Hall’ is separate to the other exhibition areas and is by invitation only – so ‘the’ place to be). In addition to showing our gowns in the Designer Hall to prospective trade customers (bridal boutiques throughout the UK and Europe), we’re very proud that our gowns will be shown in the Designer Show – a wonderful catwalk show which highlights the 2010 trends and new collections.
All of this means that it is manic in the boutique at the moment, with so much preparation to be done in advance of the exhibition – making sure everything is prepared and perfect, and up to our usual immaculate standard. We are of course continuing to see all of our lovely brides and their families in the run up to the exhibition, but we will be closed from noon on Friday 12th September through Wednesday 16th September. Don’t worry if you see a smaller number of gowns in our boutique during this period – we’ll be showing many of them at the exhibition – but they will be back in all their glory on the 16th!
Right, must get on – soooo much to do – but will write with an update after the exhibition!
- Natalie. x
P.S. Have you voted for us yet in the Bridal Buyer Awards 2010? If not, we’d really appreciate your vote in these prestigious awards!
Hi all! It’s been a while since I wrote on our blog, so apologies to all – so much going on and 24 hours in a day doesn’t seem enough! So here’s a quick update of recent events and offers at Madeline Isaac-James:
We’re offering you a FREE* 72″ cut edge veil with every gown ordered in our boutique! To qualify for this, just order your gown from our boutique between 5th and 30th June, and make sure you quote ‘June Blog Offer’. Sorry, but the veil cannot be exchanged for any other item (except for a higher value veil in which case you would be required to pay the difference), there is no cash alternative and this cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Only available for orders placed in-store between 05-30/June/09.
Real Brides section:
We will shortly be posting a Real Brides section on our website, with images and comments from some of the brides that wore a gown purchased from Madeline Isaac-James. If you are (or have been) a Madeline Isaac-James’ bride and would like us to feature your wedding day, just let us know and we’ll send you some short questions and then publish your wedding day images on our website!
We’re also very pleased to announce that Seon has been promoted to Sales Manager. Those of you that have met Seon will know that she is completely focused on our brides and really does go the extra mile to ensure that our brides feel welcome and at ease in our boutique. This, combined with her excellent knowledge of our gowns as well as season trends, makes her the ideal choice to lead our team in the boutique.
British Bridal Exhibition:
We are well underway with preparations for our attendance at the British Bridal Exhibition this year. This is the largest trade show in Europe, and we are once again proud to have been offered a position in the exclusive Designer Hall. Watch out for us in bridal press with the details of our collections as we showcase our latest designs on the catwalk in the exclusive Designer Show! We’re also looking forward to meeting up with both Annette and Emma at this exciting event!
That’s about it for the latest snapshot news! Will be in touch again soon. x
